Too often, access to professional development depends on limited departmental budgets, competing institutional priorities, or an individual’s ability to absorb the expense personally. Registration fees, transportation, and lodging can place meaningful learning opportunities beyond reach. Yet the value of participation extends well beyond a conference or workshop. These experiences create space to exchange ideas, build trusted professional relationships, collaborate across institutions, and return with practical approaches that strengthen programs and teams.
Through this initiative, GME Compass seeks to make those opportunities more accessible. Contributions help support professional development assistance, professional travel expenses for those facing budget restrictions, and scholarships offered through an application process and our annual awards program. Support also advances future innovative projects and regional and national retreats that bring GME professionals together for networking, collaboration, idea sharing, and well-being.
