Courtney Anderson, MS, is part of the Surgical Education team in GME, where she supports fellows as they prepare to transition into independent practice. After spending her career at URMC working alongside surgeons, Anderson was drawn to the role as an opportunity to return to a team she valued while growing professionally in graduate medical education. She finds it especially rewarding to work with fellows at such a pivotal stage, helping them reach the culmination of years of training and watching them go on to make an impact through their clinical work and research. Reflecting on her career, Anderson is most proud of the relationships she has built with trainees, program directors, and colleagues across the country—connections that have shaped both her personal and professional growth. Her advice to the GME community: put yourself out there, even when you feel uncertain; you are likely more ready than you think and lean on the support of those around you.
